Changing Florida Free Kill Has Gone Viral
For Debbie and Melody, 2017 was the toughest year of their lives. After each lost their father to medical malpractice in the State of Florida (November 2016) they both learned that the Wrongful Death Act left them no recourse and the hospitals would be held completely unaccountable.
At the close of 2017 we are happy to report that the cause of changing Florida's Wrongful Death Act, also known as the "Free Kill" law has started to gain support and even shows signs of the awareness going viral. Our goal for early 2018 is to re-brand the cause and attain the status of a 501c non profit organization. We have started the paperwork and are in the early stages of electing a qualified board of directors.
If you are interested in discussing participating in forwarding change of Florida's Wrongful Death Act by joining our board of directors or donating your time to raise awareness please let us know. Contact us today.
Two recent publications have really helped the just cause to Amend Florida Statute 768.21(8) with Florida's Right To Live move forward:
MadinAmerica, a widely read publication whose mission is to serve as a catalyst for rethinking psychiatric care in the United States (and abroad), recently took notice and promoted change by publishing: Florida’s “Free Kill” Law – A Death Trap for the State’s Populace and Visitors
Hayley Hassan, an honorable student at The University of Baltimore, Law School recently found just cause to overturn Florida's Wrongful Death Act, since the foundation it was based upon has recently been entirely overturned. She has published her first study on this topic in the University of Baltimore Law ReviewIssues to Watch, Online Articles, and Series titled: The Florida Free Kill Law Examined.
